Archive/Deactivate??

I apologize if this question gets asked a lot, but I’ve scoured the documentation and the Internet to no avail.

So, I have a client who has elected to put their site on hold. I should like to hide from view or freeze their site from future changes. Which is the right choice??

The documentation suggests you can deactivate and then reactivate later. This seems like the right choice, but what exactly does “deactivation” do?

I also see “archive” which also seems like a good possibility, but the documentation makes no mention of the ability to “unarchive” a site and that concerns me as someday my client may decide they want to begin again.

(Do I cut the blue wire or the red?? LOL)
