Hi, I have created a custom post type “gear” and set Has Archive to True
When clicking on a category in that post type, I get a 404 error.

I’ve tried with custom re-write rules (standard SEO friendly rules) and also switched to plain – I get the same issue.

I have also tried to create a custom archive template page in this format: archive-gear.php – I get the same issue.

Is there a further step to make archive pages work with WCK Post Type Creator?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

This seems like an issue with the permalinks.

Can you go to Settings -> Permalinks -> Click on Save Changes? By doing this we flush the permalinks.

Let me know if this had any effect on the 404 error.

    Best regards,

    Hi Teodor,
    Thanks for your reply.
I’ve clicked Save Changes though I still get the 404.
I have Custom Structure selected with /%category%/%postname%/ as the custom permalink variable.
To confirm I have also tried the Plain option (eg: ?p=123 ) > same issue with 404.

    Thanks.
