Aqua Page Builder causes missing or broken Visual Editor display
There have been problems with WordPress Visual Editor not working.
I experienced this after updating Worpress and a number of plugins.This problem needs to be properly fixed.
A simple solution for users for the meantime is described below.Some help for attempted fixes is at ;

disable all plugins
Change the theme to one of the defaults (e.g. TwentyFourteen)
Go to “my profile” and check the “disable visual editor” box.
Save
Go back to “my profile” and uncheck the “disable visual editor” box.
Save
“I followed instructions like this, some of which worked ok.
But I looked for the actual cause of the problem, by trying plugins individually.-
Diagnosis
I was able to isolate the cause of the problem down to the Aqua Page Builder plugin.
All that was needed to get the Visual Editor to work, was to deactivate Aqua Page Builder.
But deactivating Aqua Page Builder caused the home page slider display to not show.
So that implies that Aqua Page Builder not only builds the page templates, but is required to serve up the pages live.-
Meantime Solutions
The work around for users, is to deactivate the Aqua Page Builder plugin while editing, and turn it re-activate it afterwards, for proper page visibility to website visitors.
No need to disable all the plugins. No need to change user settings.
No need to go to user settings to turn Visual editor on and off.
No need to change themes.A work around for the makers of the program is to detect a page edit session, and deactivate Aqua Page Builder for the duration of the page edit session.

;
1) It was mentioned on a forum for TinyMCE editor that the later versions of WordPress have introduced a new MySQL table entry that handles whether the Visual Editor is displayed or not. It might be thta Aqua Page Builder needs to be updated to be compatible with this new function.
2) TinyMCE ID attributes need special handling
