I want to remove the Univalsal Analytics connection because it will be deleted by Google in 2023.7.1.

    Hi @carnoxen,

Thanks for reaching out. If you want to remove the Site Kit placed Universal Analytics (UA) snippet, you can do so within the plugin settings (Site Kit > Settings > Analytics > Edit). From the same settings screen you may wish to ensure that the Google Analytics 4 (GA4) snippet is placed.

Note also that Site Kit at present will show data within the Analytics dashboard based on a users Universal Analytics snippet. For that reason you won’t see any new data within the Site Kit dashboard if you no longer have Universal Analytics traffic recording. We are working on switching to GA4 reporting within the Site Kit dashboard. This will be live in advance of the Universal Analytics sunset period.

Let me know if you have any further questions on this.

@jamesosborne This plugin, is awful. I can only create GA4 properties in Google Analytics. But I can only connect UA to my site…? Your team should solve this irrationality at the early time.

@carnoxen You can create both a Universal Analytics (UA) or a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property from analytics.google.com at present, or you can use Site Kit to create one of both if you wish.

When it comes to connecting a property, Site Kit will connect your site with both. You may choose not to allow Site Kit to place your UA or GA4 snippets if you choose, but the plugin will remain connected to both.

If you’re referring to displaying GA4 data within the Site Kit dashboard, as opposed to displaying UA data, this is being worked on. Soon the Site Kit dashboard will be able to display data based on the connected GA4 property. You can keep track of progress on this over on the plugins GitHub repository.

Let me know if you have any further questions on this.
