Approved Commenters Rejected as Spam Bots

  • Two people who have posted comments on my blog multiple times in the past and are listed as approved commenters are now being rejected as Spam Bots. How do I fix this?

    Yes

    Akismet works because the entire Akismet-using community feedback information about spammers and, on the basis of this mass feedback, Akismet defines some commentators as spam and others as OK. My guess is that a number of other Akismet users have identified these users as spammers. Try marking them as “not spam” over a period of time and see if that helps.

    That doesn’t seem quite right to me because these are two close friends of mine who, believe me when I tell you, aren’t commenting all over the world wide web. I’d venture a wager that one of them has never commented on any site other than mine. Also, the comments are showing up in my Spam queue. So, I can’t “Not Spam” their comments. Any other thoughts?
