apply the .po language file

    Hello Jeff,

    Sorry to bother you again, but I was wondering how to do I apply a language file to your plugin? I worked with .po files before. However, for Word Press plugins, I do not know how to put in a language translation so that the user can select the language.

    I can see that you have the languages in:

    ./wp-content/plugins/user-submitted-posts/languages/

    Hi Peter,

    The easiest way is to use a free plugin such as Loco Translate. Then just follow the steps as outlined in the documentation should help you implement a translation. Also check the Web for tutorials on translating plugins, etc. Lots of useful infos available.

    But do I really need to use Loco Translate, I mean you have .po file in your languages directory already:

    /wp-content/plugins/user-submitted-posts/languages/

    Don’t I need to just set a “define(‘WPLANG” somewhere?

    Honestly I do not know. I only speak one language so never really “use” any of the translation stuff. My part is to correctly implement the WP API for translations, which I do for all of my plugins. So then the user is responsible for making use the translation functionality according to the WordPress documentation.

    I am looking for a solution to change to the Danish language, which is included with the download of the USP PRO version.

    Did you, billybob71a, make it work?

    My backend is 80-90% translated into Danish. The frontend isn’t, when it comes to file upload, even though I can find the translated sentences in the .po.

    Hi,

    No sorry. This is what I have been having issues with. I am not sure if I should be using a plugin like PolyLang along with the translations in order to use them.
