• I wanted to know how the sale price behaves with the subscriptions. I want to apply a discount to the first payment only.

    Thanks

@vieradel — I wanted to do the same thing. Offer an initial discount (sale price), and then charge a higher price each subsequent year.

However, I just tested it out with this plugin. Unfortunately, the recurring subscription is created for the sale price, not the original price.

I just set this up so I’m not 100% sure (I’d have to wait an entire year from now), but here are two screenshots in my admin that basically confirm the subscription will be created at the sale price.

It somewhat defeats the purpose of using this plugin, but one way around this is to give the subscription a negative signup fee. Price your product at $50 (this will be charged every year except the first). Set a negative signup fee of -$10. Your initial payment will then be $40, and all others will renew at $50.

However, if you’re using standard EDD templates, this will not help you display the sale price. But if you’re using a page builder or custom layouts for your EDD pages, along with the direct add-to-cart links, you could implement a sale price on your own, and then use this method.
