I’m trying to test the Store Credits function of your Advanced Coupons plugin.

It’s very easy to add money to a user’s account. But when I go to checkout, it says:
“Store Credit Balance – $100.00 available – Apply?”

The word “Apply?” appears to be a hyperlink but when I click on it, it does nothing. I get a “javascript:void(0)” link box in the bottom left hand corner of Chrome.

Could you explain what I’m missing?

    Thanks for your help,
    Chris

    Hi @chrisalton11,

I’ve tried this on my testing environment and it seems to work fine: https://www.loom.com/share/2df5f28edded43dc8c9b097a35b19988

This means that there might be something else that is causing the issue on your end. Could you please try to do basic debugging? Please disable all other plugins except WooCommerce and Advanced Coupons for WooCommerce plugins and switch your theme to WordPress’ standard Twenty Twenty theme.

If the issue goes away, please re-enable the theme and check again (this will eliminate the theme). If it’s the issue is still not there, start re-enabling plugins one by one, checking in between each one, to see if the issue reappears. This should lead you to the culprit plugin.

If the issue still persists even after basic debugging, please let me know so I can assist you further!

    Hi Fauzan,

I know this method is very common but I’ve never used the “disable all plugins until you find the error” tactic.

I assume I need a staging site in order to do this without losing the settings from all of my currently active plugins. Is that true? If so, what do you recommend using for a staging area to see if we can fix the Store Credit issue?

    Hi @chrisalton11,

Ideally, yes, it is better to have a staging site if you want to do a debugging like this so it won’t affect your live site traffic.

Another thing you can do is put your website into maintenance mode using one the plugin you can find in the WordPress directory. This way your customer won’t be affected.

Please let me know how it goes. Looking forward to your reply ??

    Hi @chrisalton11,

I haven’t heard back from you again, so I’ll close this thread for now.

If the issue still persists, please reply again to this thread.

    Hi Fauzan,

It’s going to take me a while to figure out how to set up a staging site. The process doesn’t seem very straightforward.

I’ve reached out to the developers at Fluid Checkout to see if it might be their plugin causing the issue.

I realized after writing the first post that the “Apply” link for Store Credits in your Advanced Coupons plugin works on my mobile site, but not on desktop. If you go to: https://www.shopcarolina.org/checkout on a desktop computer, you will see that the “Apply” link for your plugin still isn’t working. Not sure what the problem is.
