• Hey Anders,

Your fabulous plugin has become a standard feature in the custom CMS’s I build for my clients. One thing I just noticed is that alt text from the original image is not carried over to the cropped image.

My clients could of course enter the alt text *after* they crop the image, but the intuitive thing to do is enter it when they first upload the original image.

Any chance this could be implemented in an updated version?

Thanks again for all your great work.

    Hi Anders,

Still hoping there’s a way that the alt text from an original image can be automatically applied to a cropped image when it is created and when “save cropped images to media library” is selected. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, I just thought I’d mention one possible solution I thought of would be to make an additional ACF field where the user can enter the alt text. Then, in your theme, populate the alt tag of the image with that field. I have done this on sites before in order to ensure that a client must enter some alt text by making it a required field, usually called “image description” or something similar. This way it’s very obvious to the user what they need to do and I don’t have to explain what it is, and how to edit the image to add alt text.
