Apply 1.5.1 fixes without full upgrade?
-
Is this possible? See, I’ve read some of the first page where people are having probs, and it’s unnerved the bugger out of me. I’ve spent months trying to get my blog working to some state that I am satisfied with, so all I want to do is apply the specific fixes without deleting all my files. Podz gave me a hint on what to do with regards to edited core files, but what if these are compatible with 1.5.1? Surely I’m up the proverbial creek?
Is there a way to upgrade that applies all the relevant fixes without deleting or disabling anything? Sort of like a live update? I know for most it’s ok to delete all their files, but some of the plugins and well…will they work, will they cause errors? I have no errors now, my site works fine, but I know there is some security risk with 1.5.0 – but the choice is security risk with 1.5.0 or security fix with 1.5.1 and probablity of site buggering up – is’t there a security fix that can just be applied? I’d be happy to live with the bugs in 1.5.0.
Thanks in advance
