Hi Mark, I’ve upgraded to v2 on my testing site, and I’ve managed to replicate all my customisations from v1 OK. However when I submit an application it appears 7 times in the applications list. Also – this might be connected – the success message displays in 7 different places on my site, including in the header and the sidebar! This only happens with the success message – the error massage appears only once in the right place…

When you say customisations what exactly have you done? If you have modified the plugin files at all modifications will be lost when the plugin gets updated.

I have just tested the form on my testing site and can confirm that it is only appearing once for me and the confirmation message is the same, only shows once in place of the form.

Perhaps you have something happening in your theme causing this?

As you say, must be something in the theme…
The customisations are to do with changing the default taxonomies, the arrangement of metaboxes in the admin, and adding new fields in the application form.
Is it now possible to do that kind of stuff without touching the plugin files?

I’ve found out it’s a plugin conflict. I was using an old plugin called Testimonial Rotator which caused the messages to appear on the sidebar. Updating the plugin has fixed that. But also the up-to-date plugin WordPress SEO by Yoast is causing the messages to repeat in the header. This happens in other themes as well, not just mine. Of course I can turn the plugin off, but you might want to test with this one just out of interest….

Yes it appears to happen when using the WordPress SEO plugin for some reason. I will have a look into this and report back.

Just an update on this bug. I think I have found the problem however fixing it is going to be a little more tricky. I may have to change the way in which the form data is saved. Will keep you posted.

Another discovery: it happens with Jetpack too!
