Application Deadline add-on: Job listing not hidden after the close date?
-
Hello, on my client’s site I am testing the WPJM plugin along with the Application Deadline add-on before launching the job board section.
The Job Listings > Enable automatic expiration setting (to automatically expire jobs when application closing dates pass) has been enabled, as well as the Job Listings > Hide expired listings setting. The default listing duration is set at 30 days.
On several jobs, I have set the desired Closing date to the closest date available to test the function. When approaching the closing date, I see the date displayed on the job listings (Closes: Month, DD, YYYY). However, when the date passes, I see still see the jobs on the listings with (Closed: Month, DD, YYYY). On the corresponding job details pages, the Apply Now button is removed as expected.
I assumed with the Enable automatic expiration AND the Hide expired listings settings enabled, that jobs would be hidden on the listings once its closing date pass and they are considered expired. Is this not the correct function & expectation? Or could this be a bug?
Adding to my assumption is the following included statement underneath the Closing date?<small>(optional)</small> field in the Post a Job form:
“Deadline for new applicants. The listing will end automatically after this date.”In the WordPress admin, the designated jobs do show the Closing date and Expires date as the same and the dates have passed.
Bottom line: Does the Job Listings > Hide expired listings setting ONLY apply to the core WPJM plugin and NOT to the Application Deadline add-on as well? Please help clarify this and if that is the case, perhaps that can be added for the add-on in a future update as an option.
Regards,
Frank
