apple splash screen

    May I know what the “apple splash screen” is and what is the best size of the image for that?

    I have no idea what this is and how it works.
    For example, if I dont set this up, apple users can’t install the pwa on the device?
    or… anything. Why is it needed?

    I read through this document but I still dont quite get it.
