How do you recommend adding the Apple Pay Certificate on WP version 5.3.2 hosted on WordPress.com?

    Hey there,

The Apple Pay Certificate should be automatically created by Tip Jar WP when you activate the plugin. You shouldn’t need to do anything manually for that.

Was it not created for you automatically?

Thank you for getting back to me. Here is the message that I received when I tried to add the domain:

We attempted to retrieve the file at https://cloversrevenge.com/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association, but received a 404 status code from your server. Please check that the file is hosted correctly. Note that our servers most likely send different HTTP headers than your browser; you should check your logs to see why the request failed. For more information, see https://stripe.com/docs/stripe-js/elements/payment-request-button#verifying-your-domain-with-apple-pay.

    I am hosting on WordPress.com.

That’s a good question then! I wonder if WordPress.com’s folder structure system prevents you being able to have a .well-known directory.

I would recommend reaching out to their support to ask about the .well-known directory for your domain. I am curious what they tell you on that!

I don’t think that is the case. I initially tried to verify with a plugin called “Verify domain for Apple Pay with Stripe”. It allowed me to host the file, but the message was that the file was outdated. There was no 404 error.

I did reach out to support at WP, however, to see if they can host it appropriately.

That’s good to know. We’d like to take a look at what other options might be available for creating that file to see if we can make it work on www.remarpro.com.

If you’d like to reach out to our support directly we can work with you to get a version for testing that. Email [email protected] and we’ll get back to you.
