    Hi,

I have been wondering why nobody uses Apple Pay in the shop when the majority of my customers browse Safari on either MacOS or IOS.

I have the latest WordPress / Woocommerce and Plugin versions.

    What happens?
When you are on a Product Page and you hit the ApplePay button you get redirected to ApplePay as usual.
Once you confirm everything you end up on the checkout page again. But now the checkbox “shipping address different from billing address” is ticked and the Surname is not in the surname field but together with the first name in the first name field.
Additionally, you get to see all other payment options again.

I would bail out at this point because of the fear of paying twice or ordering twice.

What can I do to resolve this issue? All other payment methods work fine.

    Kind regards,

    Edward

    Hi @technicalheadwear

You should see a notice at the top of the checkout page indicating that not all required fields have been provided.

The Apple Pay integration will only redirect to the checkout page if there is some required field on your checkout page that can’t be provided for on the product page.

If you navigate to the WooCommerce > Status > Logs page there will be a “wc-stripe” log file that has an entry showing which required field was missing.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the quick reply @mrclayton,

the field missing is <Surname>. That’s what is buggy ??
So Apple Pay puts the first name and surname into the correct fields for the billing address.

But it then ticks the box “shipping address different to billing address” and puts the first and surname into the <first name> field.

    That’s the bug ??

    Kind regards,
    Edward

    Hi @technicalheadwear

Can you confirm this is happening for all your customers or a segment of them?

We aren’t able to replicate this issue, it works perfectly on our testing site and we don’t have any reports from merchants encountering this issue. It’s possible it’s specific to your site setup. Do you have a staging site where this can be re-created? I’d recommend testing with a default theme to rule that out.

In your Apple Wallet, are your first and last name entered in the separate “first name” and “last name” fields?

    Kind Regards,

    Good points @mrclayton ,

It was the address in Wallet.

    Thanks for the great support.

    Regards,
    Edward
