Apple Books link changes

    Apple Books recently changed their affiliate link requirements so that in order for links to count, “all Apple Books links must now use the base books.apple.com. Apple Books links that use the itunes.apple.com base will not track and must be changed.”

    I have about 200 books (short and long) that have links for Apple. A search through the myphp admin didn’t help me find the database that holds the information, but I could have missed it. Is there an easy way to find and replace all the old links to reflect Apple’s recent changes?

    They are in the postmeta table but the data is serialized so it won’t be an easy replacement.

    If you give me a day or two, I’ll put out an update that will update the Apple Books link on all books.

    Do you have a link to the official Apple affiliate link requirements so that I can make sure I format the links properly?

    Update Mooberry Book Manager to version 4.3.5 and you will get a notice (on admin pages) to update the links.

    The change appears to have worked on 3 books, then there were 4 draft books in my dashboard, and everything after those drafts is unchanged.

    Oh shoot I didn’t think about drafts. They will be skipped.

    Did you get a message that the updating was completed, and still there are (non-draft) books that were not updated?

    I received a message that the updating was completed, but there was no message about any books that weren’t updated.

    OK Update to version 4.3.6 and that should update all your books. *crosses fingers*

    It worked for ten books and then hit a box set where it failed to do that one and any others after it.
