Appending Files & Sorting

    Hi probably a silly question coming up.

    As well as looking after the website I also produce data CDs of Memorial Inscriptions for my Family History Society.
    I have alphabetical tables on our site which contain names and which CD the data is held in.
    I am about to add approximately 1600 names.

    Because of the upload time I have had to split the alphabet into separate tables.

    My question is when I append the new data will it be saved in alphabetical order with in Table Press

    or, would I need to download my files add the new data, sort and then upload.

    Hi John,

    thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    Any data that is appended to an existing table in TablePress is appended to the end of the table, so no automatic sorting or restructuring is performed. For that, you’d indeed need to download the table, merge/sort it offline, and then re-import the full table.
