Append UTM variables to all the links doesn’t work for custom fields

    When I check the “Append UTM variables to all the links automatically (BETA)” option I can see the UTM variables being added to all of the links in WordPress EXCEPT for those links which are stored as custom fields. This may be a limitation but, I figured I’d report it anyway since so many sites are using custom fields now a days.

    thanks for reporting… Although this sounds like limitation, because shortcodes are rendered after the_content filter.. can you please send me the which specific shortcodes are you testing?

    I am not using shortcodes. I am saving data in custom fields and displaying it.

    how do you use the custom fields? they are inserted in the content somehow?

    They are echoed into the page template.

    I do not know if i understood the usage of the custom fields… I do not see any reason why it should not work… Please provide more concrete example if you can or anything to help me to reproduce the problem.

    my site is https://www.residenconsult.com on Godaddy. WordPress 5.2. Free version of Green Quality theme.
    I cite some products with links to the companies on my site. If somebody clicks on their product on my site and I wish to ask the company to pay me for that ‘referal’, how do I do it? Someone mentionned utm variables? How do I insert them?

    Hi @mariellesavard, sounds like you are talking about affiliate program. Usually you register the 3rd party affiliate program and then they provide you the link so you can use that link for them to track the conversion.
