• Easy WP SMTP “From Email” and “From Name” fields are overriding any fields that I use in Gravity Forms. Are you aware of this and is there possibly a fix?

    Thanks
    Bryan

  • This SMTP plugin will override all from name and from email address value of your outgoing emails.

You can keep the “From Email Address” and “From Name” fields empty in the settings configuration of this plugin. That way it won’t override those values.

I would think that would work but after I delete them, leave blank and save, the email address comes back. The From field stays away until I got to a different tab then come back to the screen. Then that field reappears.

    No caching is going on.

As a test I installed the plugin on another site and when I left the fields blank on while configuring, the plugin wouldn’t accept my password until I added to those fields.

I’m having a similar issue and concur with what Bryan is experiencing.

I’d like my regular contact form (gravity form) to appear to come from one email address, but then a separate booking plugin to generate emails that appear to come from a different email address.

Do I take it that this won’t be possible with this or other SMTP Mail plugins?

@wp.insider The settings page wont save unless you enter a from email address in current version

    I’m having the same issue.
    Did this get resolved?

I haven’t been able to solve. I put an email address that would suffice for now. I need to look back at this though.

I’d just like to add that I’m having this same problem as well but with woocommerce. Woo lets you set up different “from” addresses for different status emails that it sends. Those are all being overridden by the “from” address that I *must* setup in Easy SMTP.

This seems like a glaring problem with this plugin. I’ll be looking for another SMTP plug-in unless this gets fixed.

Happens with Contact Form 7 too.
