    Dear developers,

    first of all let me thank you for this absolutely amazing plugin. Great job!

    I need your help since I’m facing the following problem: whilst all the changes made using Appearance WP Customizer are visible on the preview screen (changing the color of labels, margins of filter borders etc., I can’t see any change opening my website as a user.

    Additional info: I’m using the Storefront Pro Theme. Recently I’ve created a Storefront Pro Child, which is currently being used. You can find the screenshots explaining the problem using the link.

    Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Dear Eiriniant,

    Welcome to our support forum, and thank you so much for your kind words about our work at this filtering plugin!

    I have checked your page, and the behavior that you report seems to be a caching issue. Please go to the settings of your caching software, and exclude the files located in the ../wp-content/uploads/annasta-filters/css directory from caching.

    The files of this folder are constantly changing depending on the adjustments that you may make in the filters’ Customizer and other settings, so they are not a good candidate for caching.

    Dear plugin author,

    thank you very much for your prompt reply. Below you can find a list of actions taken, in order to fix the problem:

    1) I excluded the recommended folder from my caching software (was using LiteSpeed Cache, uninstalled it, installed another one, W3 Total Cache, made the necessary changes, but no result);
    2) I uninstalled and reinstalled your plugin, creating all the filters from scratch. However I was surprised opening the Appearance Customizer, because it had all the setting ready (i.e. they were not reset after deleting the plugin).

    You can find the .css file downloaded from /wp-content/uploads/annasta-filters/css?directory, as well as the screenshot showing the file permissions as I see them on my cPanel screen (if these are of any help), for your reference using the?link.

    Really hope you’ll be able to help me to solve the problem, because your plugin is the only one that meets all my needs and I really enjoy it.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Eiriniant,

    Let me ask you: in step #2 have you just deactivated the plugin, or completely deleted and then re-installed it from scratch?

    All the plugin options (including the Customizer-related ones) are programmed to be deleted from the database on plugin deletion. If they persisted into the next installation after the plugin deletion, there may be some other cache (possibly the database level?) involved.

    Can you please carry out a small experiment, and add these CSS rules in the annasta Filters > Style settings > Custom CSS box:

    .awf-active-badge {color: #dd7e1f;}
    .awf-active-badge:hover {color: #cc5f24;}

    Save the settings, and reload your shop page to see if this applies any change to the color of your active badges.

    Dear Annastaa,

    In step #2, I deactivated the plugin and after that I deleted it completely (using WP admin panel, finding the plugin in the list of installed plugins and choosing the relevant options one by one). Manual “Purge all Caches” was applied upon completion of each operation.

    Regarding the suggested experiment, I suppose it worked perfectly!
    Now the filter badges that are selected, have the color used in the suggested CSS rules (please check the relevant print screen for your reference). Moreover, I’ve checked the plugin .css file using cPanel, and I’ve seen that the relevant record has been added to it.

    Therefore, as far as I understand, I have to make the necessary appearance customization using your plugin Custom CSS box, and not the WP Appearance Customizer.

    If so, kindly advise regarding my next steps in customizing the appearance of your plugin (since I’m not an expert in programming ?? )

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hello Eiriniant,

    Thank you so much for the explanation and feedback! What you describe may easily be the case of some kind of Customizer error or conflict (possibly with a 3d party plugin). Since it sounds like the annasta Customizer options get properly updated, I would propose that you tried the following workaround:

    1. Set up some of the custom colors that you need in the Customizer. Try adding a custom margin (for example, temporarily set the active badge bottom margin to 10), so that we could see if the issue concerns only the colors, or all of the Customizer options.
    2. Go to the annasta Filters > Style settings admin section, temporarily remove the custom CSS that I gave you from the corresponding field, and push the blue “Save” button.
    3. Reload the shop page to see if the Customizer settings get applied to the page. If this works, then all you need to do is to edit the appearance in the Customizer, and then use the “Save” button of the annasta Filters > Style settings screen for the proper stylesheet generation.

    If the above procedure doesn’t work, you are welcome to contact us so that we could check your installation for possible errors that halt the generation of the Customizer-based CSS rules. If you can’t write the needed custom CSS rules yourself, I’m afraid there is no other way to address this issue ??

    Dear Annastaa,
    I tried the workaround suggested by you, however it didn’t work for me.
    I even tried to reset the settings of Annastaa filters within the Cutomizer options using the “Reset” button & to set everything from scratch. However, neither the colors, nor the margins etc. I set via Customizer, affected the appearance of the page upon reload.

    I added myself some custom CSS rules at Filters >?Style settings?admin section of your plugin (it took some time since I am not an expert ?? ), and it worked perfectly. For sure, I would like to add some more decoration to this block of my site, though even now it I’m rather satisfied with the result.

    Kindly advise regarding my next steps:
    I’ve visited the contact page provided by you earlier, and I see that I have to send a message concerning the problem I’m facing. Should I describe all the steps taken by me before, or can I refer to our “troubleshooting dialogue” on WP forum, and just mention the problem, i.e. “any adjustments made through the WP Customizer, have no impact on the page appearance”?

    Many thanks in advance for your help and patience.

    Hello Eiriniant,

    Please just make a reference to the support forum thread about Customizer adjustments not getting reflected on the frontend, and we’ll pick it up from there!

    Hello Eirini,

    It has been more than 2 weeks since we’ve last posted in this thread, so I will go ahead and mark it as resolved.
