• I didn’t use it for a while because I had nothing to add, and the current Menu is working just fine.
Now that I need to add submenu items, I cannot get into the Appearance > Menu. It times out with error 504.

I also tried using Appearance > Customize > Menus but my Main Menu strangely enough only shows a single Menu item although the actual Menu bar shows all the correct ones.

Obviously, something isn’t as it should be, and I am at a loss on how to fix it w/o screwing up my website.

I am running WordPress 5.8.2, OceanWP, and Elementor.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Twenty-One theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    James,
    thanks for your suggestions.
I have not been able yet to test most of them yet but after a Elementor plug-in update yesterday the Appearance > Customize > Menus works properly. Whether that is related remains to be seen because Appearance > Menu still times out.
