I had finished building my website to be used as a PWA, but when I installed it on my phone for testing, the only icon which shows on my Android device is the grey Default APP icon. My icon is the correct 192×192 size and is linked in the PWA setup page.
Any thoughts on why this has occurred?
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
Actually, the URL is fine, but the site is designed specifically to only be 480px wide (that is the largest mobile phone width). It is ONLY to be used as a web app and not a website. If you shrink your screen to 480px or less, you will see the site
Hi I have a feeling Restrict Content Pro was blocking the homepage. I have disabled it for now, so hopefully that is better. Apologies for the inconvenience
Hi, we’ve checked your shared URL again, and it still appears completely blank. Please double-check it and provide more details about the issue you’re experiencing. Specifically, let us know what exact problem you’re facing and where you encounter it, so we can investigate further.
It is blank if your browser size is wider than 480px…I already mentioned that. This is an app ONLY for mobile phones and the widest mobile phone screen size is 480px.
The problem has been explained. When I install the app on my phone, it shows a grey icon saying Default APP, instead of the App Icon listed in the setup tab. That is the only issue I raised.
OK…..not sure why a monochrome icon would be a requirement or why it would stop the colour icon from showing, but will add one and see if it changes anything
Thanks for the reply

For whatever reason, the app icon which was set was NOT our logo, but the grey default APP icon. Not show how and when that changed, as I had set it previously. No bother, I have now resaved OUR logo to the App icon area and the monochrome one is also set.
So when I install the app, it now installs with the logo showing. The downside is, the logo sizing is pretty awful. Here it is below
I have changed the sizing of the icon 4 times now. It now has a 25px transparent space all the way around it to allow for the fact Android icons are not circular; the png file is still 192px x 192px so should be fine. I have cleared the browser cache again and uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but regardless what I do to sizing, this is how it looks when installed.
Here is the app icon in Photoshop, so you can see what I mean by space around it
Any thoughts why it does not display correctly?
The same thing happens on the splash screen. The 512px logo is cropped just like the one you see in the first image.
Again, any thoughts on why it doesn’t show as a complete circle?
Cheers

Hi, we noticed the default icon in your app screenshot. Kindly update the icon and put your site on recrawl. Please let us know after monitoring it for few days.
Hi, thanks for your reply. I’m really not sure what you mean. As indicated, our icon is now showing, but there is an issue with the way it is displayed, with some of the icon being cropped, as you can see here. How does one make it so the full circular icon shows?
