Apostrophes showing hex codes in subject line

Interesting – they show correctly here, but not in Gmail!

As @derekmacewen i have the same problem of “showing the hex codes for apostrophes” in subject…
In last version (3.4.9), it happens when you select email rule on “PHP HTML MAIL” and not on “WP HTML MAIL”.
The problem was in previous version in file es-sendmail.php :
I have been resolved it changing line code “$subject = utf8_decode($subject);”
It will be better to fix it in next version of this great plugin.

Thx @complicword- unless I get too many complaints, I’ll live with it until they fix it (and try to write subject lines that don’t need apostrophes!).

In our recent plugin release, we did some fix and improvements in the headers.
Kindly allow me some time to try and replicate this issue on my end.

Please update Email Subscribers to the latest version 3.4.11 as this issue is fixed in this.
