    After upgrading to WordPress 2.5 today all of the apostrophes in my old posts have been replaced by a€? For example:

    woman’s
    is now
    womana€?s

    This does not happen on new posts. Any help would be appreciated. The URL is https://www.familyrtw.com You can see several examples on the main page. Thanks again.

  • There’s a good bit of discussion on character sets, and some documentation about it if you look for it.

    The solution for me, having the identical problem, was to comment out two lines in wp-config.php:
    # define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);
    # define(‘DB_COLLATE’, ”);

    Try that, and good luck!
    press on!

    Now that you mentioned that resolution I remember that I had to do this the last time I upgraded WordPress. Thanks.
