• Good morning,

I am attempting to develop an application that would access (read only) data from a wordpress hosted website. I am not the manager of the wordpress website but I would like to access the public data using an API. I would prefer not simply pulling the data from the webpage, but would rather read the data from the actual database.

The person who manages the wordpress site has very little knowledge regarding APIs, plugins, and things like that. But he is willing to allow me to access the data as needed for my application. He also informed me that his domain name is handled/hosted at GoDaddy.com.

My question is: Is there a simple way that I can access the data via APIs and endpoints from the wordpress site without requiring the website manager having to do too much work. I’m trying to make it easy for him to allow me to access his data, and I wonder if I would have to sit down with him and install plugins in order to make this work.

Please let me know if you have any advice on this. Thank you!

    Eric
