API not being validated

    Hi Florian,

    First of all Thanks for this great plugin!

    For some reason Im unable to validate the Goggle API in the settings. Have reset the key in Google successfully but still to no avail. Any idea what else I can check or how to begin troubleshooting? I’m running iThemes Security and was wondering if that might be blocking the requests somehow…

    Hi Leslie,

    first of all: You do not necessarily need to enter the API key. It should work without it, but you are limited to a certain amount of request per day (don’t know the exact amount from the top of my head, but it should be enough), measured against all request from your server’s ip address. With the key you get 2500 request per day.

    But I found something strange while testing around a bit: Which browser did you use to validate the API key? If it wasn’t Chrome, try again using Chrome this time and please report back to me, if that worked for you.

    Hi Florian,

    Sad to report that it didn’t work with Chrome either.

    Will check out my console to see if I can trace the prob… as well as try on another site if I can…

    I guess you made sure you enabled the Geocoding and Time Zone APIs in your Google Developer Console?
