• Hi, can you please explain the API limits? When posting an article I would like to auto post the article 1) title, 2) image and 3) link…to FB, Twitter and Instagram all at once. Is there a limit of articles per hour? Thanks!

  • For publishing a simple text message, it will take 1 API call, Upload image option will take 2-3 API calls in Facebook and 4 api calls in Linkedin and twitter and attach link option take 1 API call(2 api calls for facebook if enabled option for clearing cache).
Instagram supports only image posting which takes only 1 api call.

Sorry this is still not clear to me. So does this mean the following:

    • Auto Post to Facebook with title, image, permalink. This will equal 4 API calls. Is there a limit of 10 API calls per hour for Facebook? If this is the case then I can only post two articles per hour if each post equals 4 API calls each (8 total)?
    • Auto Post to Twitter with title, image, permalink. This will equal 4 API calls. Is there a limit of 10 API calls per hour for Twitter? If this is the case then I can only post two articles per hour if each post equals 4 API calls each (8 total)?
    • Auto Post to Instagram with title, image, permalink. This will equal 1 API call. Is there a limit of 25 API calls per day for Instagram? If this is the case then I can only post 25 articles per day if each post equals 1 API calls each (25 total)?

You can share text, image and link as image post(upload image to album in case of facebook, instagram and twitter) or as link with clickable preview (for facebook and twitter) .
The image upload require 3-4 api calls (1 for instagram) for facebook and twitter whereas link share (not supported in instagram) will take 1 api call (2 for facebook if you enable clear facebook cache settings).

The 10 api call per hour and 25 api calls per day is smapsolutions basic package , which you can upgrade if you wish to publish more posts, otherwise you can schedule the posts to adjust the hourly limits.

    Hope this helps.
