Api key not going live

My stripe api keys are entered correctly into the plugin settings.
And test mode apparently works because the results do show up in my stripe dashboard.
But I am unable to activate ‘live’ mode.
I just get the message (in the plugin settings page) that I need to provide the api keys for it to function.
Any ideas why this might be happening?

I already contacted my hosting provider and they said they checked the server and it all seems fine to connect properly to stripe.
