  • I can’t get an API key…I tried all the suggestions given…nothing works!

Has anyone come up with solution to getting an api key? I have a wp blog on another server and the idea of getting a seperate account on wp just for an api key is going to get confusing. is there not a way to get registered and keyed with my current blog?

I wish somebody would CLEARLY clear this up.
I also have my own site.
I followed what was said and created a user account without a blog and it gave me an API key.
But it doesn’t work on my separately hosted site.
    It’s driving me nuts.

I am having the same issue as the past posters. I am trying to connect my YouTube account with my own WordPress site I have hosted with Dreamhost, but I cannot find an API key for it anywhere.

I have a wordpress.com account and I can see the API key there, but there is no connection between that key and my privately hosted WP blog.

    Any help available?

I am also having the same problem. I have a self-hosted blog on www.remarpro.com, signed up for an account with wordpress.com and received an API key. However, how do you connect the two? If I want to use the API key on YouTube, how will it know that the totally new, separate wordpress.com account will relate to my self-hosted blog? Many of the solutions offered relate to having the akismet plugin – evidently, you could connect the 2 accounts by entering you api number with the plugin, however, it seems the question that isn’t answered, is how you connect the two accounts in general.
