• I am running WP 2.5.1 but I cannot find my API key. I followed the instructions by going to Users–>Your Profile and looking for it there but nothing was there as far as an API key was concerned. I am trying to install WordPress.com stats as well as Askimet but from my understanding I cannot do either until I have an API code.

Hey Mikey, thanks for the input but I am little confused. I already have a WordPress blog. Why would I have to register again? I tried to anyway and it said that the username that I use for my blog account is already in use. I set up my WP blog via the hosting service that I use. Does this make a difference?

Hi there, yes it can be confusing. You don’t need another blog, its just that being registered with wordpress.com enables yo to get your api key from your account.
    hope you get there.
    mike.
PS. Once you have an account simply go to your profile, your API key is there.

I went ahead and registered and I have an API key. Are you saying that I can use that API key in my wordpress blog that I have established under wp.org? Thanks for your help.
