API Error : INVALID_DOCUMENT

    Over the last few weeks we’ve been receiving multiple displays of rows such as

    INVALID_DOCUMENT – “text” was “” should be not (null or an empty string) (keyPath components->1->components->3->text)
    INVALID_DOCUMENT – no components defined for role=body (keyPath components->1->components->3)

    We publish 10 pieces of fresh news content on AEC News Today every morning. We create a new draft of the previous day’s content to use as a template using Duplicate Post. We refresh the links for the embedded graphic and feature image prior to publishing.

    Then for the rest of the day we’re receiving errors in blocks of ten in the dashboard of stuff such as the above.

    Can you please post the content from the Text tab in the post editor via a pastebin.com link for one of the failing posts? That will allow me to attempt to reproduce the issue on this end, and I can give you guidance on what is causing the failure.

    Hello Kevin and thank you for the reply.

    The problem is we don’t have any failing posts. All of the posts are publishing fine. We just keep getting these big chunks of faults over and over again many hours after we’ve published the posts.

    I wonder if Duplicate Post is interfering with this by copying metadata related to Publish to Apple News that it shouldn’t be. Looks like you can use the dp_duplicate_post action to clean these up:

    Unfortunately, supporting other plugins is beyond the scope of the support we can provide here in the forums, but hopefully you will be able to find a solution using the action hook I mentioned above.

    Thanks very much.

    I’ve been through and tried the four duplicate plugins with the largest installed bases and they all cause a conflict with Publish to Apple News.

    I’ll see if the developer will help with implementing this hook, but at the end of the day we need the post duplication functionality more than we do Publish to Apple News so one will have to go. As it is the stories aren’t getting posted to Apple News anyway so deleting it won’t be a great loss.
