API error after update to 3.4.0
-
Until today everything has been working fine. However, after the update to 3.4.0 we see on many sites an API error in the log:
FEHLER: Call to undefined method BackWPup_Destination_Dropbox_API_Request_Exception::error()
Additionally, the settings have changed. All archive names have now a new prefix. What’s wrong?
-
@mkj2, at which point in the log does this error occur? Are you able to give a few lines of the log around the error? Does the archive back up to Dropbox or does it not at all?
The new prefix is intentional. We wanted to be more strict about the name of archive files so we can better track which archives belong to which jobs.
@cocreation, I also experience this error on ALL 7 separate sites I am managing since updated to 3.4.0
It seems the archives did back up to Dropbox, the zip file is more or less the same size as those created without this error before.
Here are the codes from one of the sites (I swapped the identity into *my name*), the error codes from other sites are more or less identical:

Hi @5stepsapart, the bug results from not entering a path into the destination folder under the Dropbox tab of your job. This will be fixed in the next version. In the meantime, you can either enter a folder name into that field, or contact us for an updated file that fixes this bug. Or if you’re comfortable with code, I can post the fix here to enter.
This is the exact same error. In my case, the archives didn’t back up to dropbox. You are right: the error appears on sites with an empty destination field. Fixing this manually is unfortunately not really an option on 60 installations. Hopefully, you will update soon. Thanks for the support.
@cocreation thanks for your reply, entering a path into the destination folder under the Dropbox tab does fixed the problem for now, hopefully new update will available soon from you for @mkj2 and all of us. Thanks for this great plugin and your good work!
@all yes we’re working on fixing the bug and it’ll be in the next release.
Which is the best channel to get the updated code? Or is the next release imminent?
Thanks
@briantoronto you can email support [at] backwpup.com to get the beta. Or, 3.4.1 will be released next week.
