• Hello,
I have a free wordpress account that I set up about a year ago. I also just installed wordpress on my website. Certain plugins are asking for my API code and when I go to get it, I’m given the one to my free account and that one doesn’t work with the one on my website. How do I get the API code for the blog on my site?

  • Assuming you’re talking about WordPress.com API keys (like for akismet and the stats plugin) please check out

Well, I have my API code for the blog on wordpress.com. The problem I’m having is I also have installed a wordpress blog on my website domain (jhundley.com) and I’m trying to find an API code for that one. The code for the blog on wordpress.com won’t work on the other blog.

www.remarpro.com blogs don’t give out API keys. The only place to get API keys is from wordpress.COM.

    Honest. I promise ??

Could you elaborate a bit on “won’t work”? Is there an error message?

Ok, I found out what to do LOL I got my API code from wordpress.com and when I applied it to jhundley.com it told me the code was already associated with the wordpress.com blog. Before, when I did this, I didn’t see the option of associating the jhundley blog to that code. I clicked on that option and it’s working now.

    Thanks!
