Apache and mod_rewrite

  • Ok, lets try this again. Someone please help me with my problem. I am running Apache2 on my own server and I would really like some help on configuring the http.conf file to allow .htaccess files to be processed. I tried setting allowoveride to every combination of options but the server always throws up and error when trying to serve any page if allowOverride is anything but None.

  • In my xampp setup, I have ‘AllowOverride All’ – have you got mod_rewrite enabled too ?

    I really don’t want to be annoying, but ive been to sites with mod_rewrite enable archives so I know someone must know how to do this right. Please could someone take time out of their day and pity me and guide me in the way of Apache Mod_Rewrite?

    I hope that you found the answer long before this, but I just “relearned” this (worked on one machine, not another)

    Include “index.php” in the virtual site structure (located in Admin’s “Options –> Permalinks” tab)

    For example, here’s what I have:

    /index.php/%year%/%monthnum%/úy%/%postname%/

    Without index.php it no workee.
