Anyone using this plugin in one site with two languages?

Hi there!
I find the plugin to be very useful and reliable but would like to use it in a website using two different languages.
Has anyone find a way to do it?
I′ve seen a couple of messages asking the plugin′s authors to consider making it WPML compatible. Would it be also compatible with Polylang as it also features the custom strings translation option? I already tried making the changes as proposed in this post to make custom strings translatable but didn′t work in my site using Polylang.
