Anyone using Subscriptions by WooCommerce?

  • Firstly, as good as Ultimate Member is, I just can’t believe they don’t have a paid membership subscription type extension yet…!!!

    Ok so, just wondering if anyone has used Subscriptions by WooCommerce and can advise on how it integrates with WC itself.

    It’s an expensive add on and I don’t want to purchase unless I know it will work for my situation.

    I’ve had a look through the documentation and it appears that a “subscription” would be an option within the WC product data section, however it’s impossible to tell without actually buying it and setting it up.

    As my development site stands now…

    I have WooCommerce and the UM WooCommerce plugin.
    I have custom UM user roles, one free, and two that will be paid.
    I have made two simple products marked as virtual that people can purchase that upgrade you to one of the two paid user roles depending on which you choose. I want these to be subscriptions.

    If Woo Subscriptions was added to this, would I be able to make the two virtual products (that integrate with UM to upgrade the user custom role) into subscriptions?

    And if so, what would happen to the user at the end of the subscription period? eg, would that user be returned to their previous custom UM user role?

    Really really really appreciate any help or guidance on this issue…!!

    Hi tcv73,

    Yes we want to have paid membership functionality and we will build this in future.

    We don’t have WooCommerce subscription integration yet but this may be something we do before creating our own paid membership functionality.
