• This looks like a nice clean (and hopefully stable) theme. If you’re using it, how have you modified it?

  • I used to use it, and modified it by changing the header to display my blog’s logo. Very, very clean theme.

I am using it now, but having a hell of a hard time figuring out how to remove the pop up items that you see when you hover over “COMMENTS”. I was able to get it to stop popping up over the titles of the enteries and the timestamp… but can’t find where to stop it for some OTHER links.

    Any help?

MagnumDB – linking your name to an actual WP site would speed help up a whole lot. Please do so ? ??

I’m sorry about that! I have to update my profile. Here is the link right now though:

What if you disable the “nicetitle.css” in your theme?

I had tried deleting all the text inside that (In Presentation> Theme Editor). But nothing seemed to have changed. Is that concidered disabling, or is there another way?

In the meantime, I am going to try deleting the nicetittle.css file from my server (not before making a back up of it of course!)

Alright, deleting the nicetitle.css file DOES seem to eleminate the pop up window.

As a side note, if I delete the nicetitle.js file, when I hover over the COMMENT title, my Safari brower pops up it’s OWN little window. It’s yellow and says “Comment On *Blog Title*”. And of course whatever the blog title is, is what’s there instead of what I typed.

Also as a note, when I only have nicetitle.css deleted and not the nicetitle.js file, while no window pops up, I do notice that the scroll bar shortens, as if some kind of content was added to the page, and it had more to scroll. When I move the mouse off the link, the scroll bar lengthens again.

I’m not sure what that means, but it doesn’t really effect anything major that I noticed.

Sorry, I forgot to add it’s not a tested solution, just based on a quick look at your stylesheet (in FF Developer Tool).
I might be that you have to remove something in your index.php from the
    <?php comments_popup_link(__('Comments (0)'), __('Comments (1)'), __('Comments (%)'), 'commentlink'); ?> line.

Thats the area I’ve been at most of the time, hehe. I had no idea what to delete from that line though. Everything there looks like it’s needed.

I just tried my page in FireFox for the first time and the pop up areas ARE there. They are not there in Safari though. Hmmmm.

ANy suggestions on what to delete from that specific line?

The line I posted is the “vanilla” version that comes default. If you don’t have anything else there (or around it: as in being wrapped in some div that references the ugly thing:)… then you’ll have to dig deeper.

Yes, unfortunately in FF the “thing” is still there (I hate them, too, so I understand your frustration).
Seemingly you modified the header.php, so there is no reference to the WP version… but if it’s 2.0 you may try to empty the cache. Not your browser, but the folder under wp-content.

Well, I still see the browser pop-up window, but the gray area is all gone in both Safari and FireFox. I tried emptying the cache folder in the WordPress folder. I didn’t even know about that little guy, so thank you for the information on that.

I can live with what I have for right now. Perhaps later I will go back into it, but it’s nothing to get all worked up about.

Thank you for the help though, it gave me a basis on what to look into next time I try working with it again.
