Anyone know where Database files are stored

  • or what to look for? My hard drive went kaput, but I have a bunch of saved files. Im thinking a database file has to be in there somewhere to help with the restore process… Anyone know what they would be named or where I would look? I suppose I can import them, or some routine to get my websites back up and running. WordPress on win7, wamp. New drive, new installations of everything. Any suggestions, help would be greatly appreciated.

  • If you used the default location for WAMP on the kaput drive, that is, C:\wamp then if your backups include the WAMP folder, it should be just a matter of restoring it to that EXACT location on the new drive. This will restore your complete WAMP setup; no need to install a new one.
