Anyone have the problem with theme going back to default or going blank

  • I have googled it and have found some answers but nothing conclusive. I found a great theme it kept going back to the default. I thought maybe then I would rename the default folder of the current theme but still it doesn’t work. I have hostgat*r and they are trying to find a reason why this is happening and I was wondering if anyone is going through a similar experience? My theme also goes blank now and I have no idea what to do. I did update my version but was still having problems with wp from August. Any help would be appreciated.

  • WP will usually automatically disable a troublesome theme or plugin. Which theme is the problem? Have you tried going to the theme’s home page and checking the comments there, contacting the theme’s designer or seeing if they have a support forum set up?

    Thanks for getting back to me, I have had 8 themes or so and all of them have either gone back to default or gone blank. I have checked their support but nothing mentions my problem what so ever so it is very frustrating. I even uploaded a basic theme and didn’t put plugins onto it and it still went blank. Just so frustrated.

    Which themes are you having problems with? Make sure that your FTP program isn’t choking and failing to completely upload all the theme files. This sometimes happens.

    Thesis 1.6. I use Core Ftp lite and have been able to upload plugins fine so I don’t know what could be wrong.
