We’re sorry to hear about the problem you’re having with your website. We haven’t received similar reports from other users, so we think that this is either specific to your site or a plugin or theme conflict.

If you are experiencing an issue with the plugin after updating that is preventing you from accessing your wp-admin area on the site, we would recommend following the guide here for deactivating the Yoast SEO plugin and then performing a conflict check to determine the source of the issue: https://yoast.com/help/white-screen-when-activating-or-updating-plugin/.

If you aren’t able to update in the standard fashion due to the issue that is causing the plugin’s files to become incomplete or damaged, as a workaround you can also perform a manual update of the plugin. We have instructions on how to upgrade the plugin manually at the following link: https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-premium-plugin/#ftp.

You will need an FTP program such as FileZilla and your FTP details, which can be obtained from your host provider.

You may need to clear your cache from caching plugins, the server, a CDN like Cloudflare after updating. If you are not sure how to clear the cache from a plugin, please contact the plugin author. If you’d like to clear the cache from the server, please speak to your host provider.
