Anyone can register – plugin disabled
-
Hello!
So I am just passing here to let people know a feature (or bug) I’ve found while using your SSL security plugin.
I manage an online store where people can register, create accounts and buy stuff. For years, actually.
Today the store manager told me a new client wasn’t being able to register in the site. I found it strange, so I went to the WordPress plugins and disabled the “my login” theme plugin and/or the redirection plugin. Both could be causing that issue. After a few minutes online search I went to the options to check the “Anyone can register” option, as it should be turned ON.
For my surprise, it was turned OFF!
A few more minutes searching directed me to your SSL plugin. I didn’t even knew it could overwrite the option to register. I disabled the “Disable ‘anyone can register’ ” option. Then back to WordPress options and the main register option was already ON again.
So I just found this extremelly annoying because I have your SSL plugin for years and it never bothered the register process or ability. Considering this was applied to an online store that absolutely requires user registration, I feel that SSL option should come OFF by default.
I mean, I’m sure I NEVER activated it. I didn’t even knew it was there!
Thanks!
