• I have built a wordpress site and I need to move all of my database to wordpress database.

I have been using ms-sql 2008 and now on I will use MY-SQL (wordpress)

Any tips how I can move all of my database(ms-sql) to wordpress(my-SQL)

(of course, I will not take all of them, I will move what wordpress needs)

I have db for posts (over 30,000)
I have db for users (over 30,000)
    and Comment (over 40,000)

    and other small things..

I am thinking that I download all of database as excel file and modify for wordpress. and upload to ms-sql

    what do you think?

Please advice me how to do well.

  • download all files as excel. Will take some time and will be heavy filesize, but .sql is standard format and transferable easily to mysql

good advice. I will do that.
but first of all, I need to study wordpress database structure.

I don’t think I just need to put on wp-post table. it seems to be connected(related) to other table. isn’t it?

    anyway thanks for your time.
