• I love this plugin. But I can’t seem to make it work with my theme, which has has a main content box which is at the top of my site. But I have added other elements under this. When I add the shortcode to a second content box at the bottom of the site, the Create Your Own Review also appears in the main content box at the top of the site by default.

How can I remove it from the main content box? I would really like to use this plugin. I can’t seem to make it work in a widget alone on this same homepage.

  • What version of the plugin are you using?
    What’s the page URL?
    What theme are you using?
Was the plugin working before, and if so, what changed?

Let’s start there and see what we can do to help.

    Dear gowebsol,

I am using Version: 3.0.1 Lite.
    my page URL is https://tunethetemple.com/

Barely Corporate Theme by Theme Forest

no, I have never used this plugin before. I have been searching for a few days and tried/experimented with about 5 different review plugins and I definitely think yours is the best option I have tried!!!! phew… !

I have the form now in 3 locations on my homepage for you to look at!

    1. Widget in right margin. Is there a way to narrow the fill in boxes when you open up the review form? this may be my best solution. I have a friend who knows some coding and could do this for me…

    2. DEFAULT LOCATION: in my theme I am using, the bottom of the content box is not at the bottom of my homepage. it is at the bottom of my first big content box in the middle of the page. Can I remove the default location of the plugin somehow? I don’t want it here in the middle of my homepage like that.

    3. So, I added another content box at the bottom and included the [WPCR_INSERT] there. That would work as another option IF I CAN REMOVE THE DEFAULT LOCATION.

Thank you so much for your time!!

    Dear gowebsol,

WE figured out an answer! Please don’t waste your time going to my site. my web friend adjusting some CSS code and made the review form and reviews all fit in a widget nicely!! yay, I’m happy!

I’m removing it from the default content area (as described above).

one question: since I have 2 pages (home and blog) with different widget sidebars, I am adding this widget to both pages. I have to use the page ID for each. I can’t use WPCR_SHOW POSTID=”ALL” because I also want to show the form to submit reviews. this means that each page will have different reviews depending on which page the review was submitted. Is this correct?

(I wish there was a way to use ALL and also have the review form available).
then all the reviews would show up on both my pages with widgets.

thank you so much for a great plugin that doesn’t seem to slow up my site at all.

holy smokes.. more info to give you as it isn’t working correctly:

I really want to use only the widget… how do I do that?

I thought I would try this: when I disable “Enable WP Customer Reviews for this page” so that the form and reviews don’t show up in the middle of my homepage, 2 issues arise:

    1. the average rating goes to default of 2.5 stars in the widget
    2. the “view more” link from the widget doesn’t link to anything to read the rest of the review.. it just jumps to the middle of the page showing nothing.

when I Enable WP Customer Reviews for this page” on my Homepage:
    1. the default location is at the bottom of my first content box, not the bottom of my home page (back to my original question). I really don’t like it there at all.

    2. the “view more” from the widget redirects to this location to finish reading the review.

when I Enable WP Customer Reviews for this page” on my Blog page:
there is no location of default nor is there any place to read the “view more”.

this is the code I am using…
    [WPCR_SHOW POSTID=”1066″ NUM=”5″ SHOWFORM=”1″ HIDEREVIEWS=”0″ HIDERESPONSE=”0″ SNIPPET=”140″ MORE=”View More” HIDECUSTOM=”0″ ]

back to needing some help ??

I played around with a couple of ideas but it didn’t help.

first I updated to the latest version. 3.0.5

I wish the “view more” in the widget could link to a separate review page I created. I added the ID of homepage number where widget is located on to this review page code. didn’t connect me there when I clicked view more. darn!

Before I give up on this plugin, I wanted to send out one more appeal for help!

    1. is there a way to just use this in a widget, WHERE THE REVIEW FORM AND REVIEWS DO NOT SHOW UP at the bottom of page content by default? widget only…

    HOW to do this?

    2. is there a way for the “view more’ to click through to the individual review page? or somewhere?? when you do not use the default bottom of content built in as described in #1 above.

    thx so much!

Hi we’re having a similar issue to this.

We’re using a custom theme and so I’ve added the php snippet where I want it, which is separate from the content body.

The issue I’ve come across is if we tick “Enable WP Customer Reviews for this page” then the reviews also display at the bottom of the main content area. Unfortunately, if I leave the enable button un-ticked then when a review is added, the post id gets overridden when the review is accepted because $this->get_all_posts_pages(true); (line 614 of wp-customer-reviews-3-admin.php) only gets the enabled posts.

I also can’t trust my authors not to tick enable if I hacked my way around that bit!

If you have a public git repo I’d happily fork and provide a pull request to fix this.

    Thanks

    npfedwards,

did you get this plugin to work in the widget area only and not show up in the content by default? I am about to ditch it and use a different plugin as I can’t seem to find a solution.

can you share your site you are using it on so that I can see?
