301s are not good if the old URL was penalized and the purpose for changing the URL is to get Google to re-index content their staff removed pursuant to complaints because Google will penalize the new URL.

I will take that as a “no” since normally people from Yoast are quick to answer questions here.

So, I take it the staff at Yoast don’t like to respond to questions from people trying to recover traffic lost due to search engine penalties unless the person is not willing to do whatever it takes to get it back.

    Hello @notgoodenough,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your redirects. If I understand correctly, you will like to disable 301 redirects that you have previously created. Can you share how you have created them since the Yoast SEO plugin does not have a redirect feature?

Oops, I meant to say that I didn’t create 301s. Either you or WordPress did.

I need to disable the default 301 redirects on single posts to keep Google from transferring a penalty to the same content hosted at a new URL.
