    Hi James (@wedideas),

Optimizer v2.0 is currently in the final testing stages, and I’m hoping to release it to the public within the next few weeks.

This exciting major release has been completely rewritten to support NextGEN 2.0.xx, whilst maintaining backwards compatibility with the original NextGEN codebase, and also the NextCellent Gallery fork.

I’m afraid I can’t provide a more accurate ETA, as I receive a lot of NextGEN v2.0 support questions through my public email address, as well as incompatibility issues from my own users when they inadvertently upgrade to NextGEN v2.0.xx.

It’s been very slow going, but should be ready soon.

    All the best,
    Mark.

    Hi Mark,

thanks for your reply, hopefully it’ll be soon enough ??

    James

I saw a thread where you we’re able to give someone support for images in galleries and slideshows that are not being indexed by Google. I was hoping you could help me too.
My site is artisticimages.biz & I just found out that a web guy wanted to optimize my site so he had my images moved to a CDN I think. Well after that all my images disappeared. When I went on Google Webmaster Tools it said I have 80 images sumbitted but 0 indexed. I am a “Photographer” so this is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to me. thanks, Denise

Looks like the 80 images are now being indexed due to something with sitemaps he fixed. Now I need my Fancy Gallery and Slideshow images indexed? Any clue how to do that?

    Hi @rtstc2000,

When you had your images moved to a CDN, it’s likely they were given a slightly different URL, and may have been de-indexed if they no longer existed at their old addresses. For example, it’s common to set up a subdomain on your site to handle redirects to your CDN (Eg. https://cdn.yoursite.com). I’d imagine your web guy fixed this by regenerating your sitemap to update your image URLs.

In regards to indexing your slideshow images, I don’t believe it would be possible with the slideshow in the original NextGEN codebase (v1.x.xx), as the images are pulled in dynamically (they don’t appear in the page’s HTML source).

It should be possible with NextGEN 2.0’s slideshows however (as they do appear in the source), but I doubt my technique in the thread you referred to would be compatible with this completely new codebase.

In regards to indexing images in Fancy Gallery, I would recommend contacting the developer, as he’d be much more familiar with his code (I’ve only just heard about it).

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers,
    Mark.

    Any updates about v2?
