For clients I often need to provide basic traffic stats. I have Site Kit installed on a bunch of sites and am only now realizing that I’m the only one who can see the stats! I saw an older post which states that any Admin would need to connect to Google in order to see Site Kit info. Is that still the case? Are there plans to change that or is there a simple workaround? Most of my clients are not web-savvy or even WordPress-friendly.

Hi @johnh23. When it comes to sharing data Site Kit collects data from each connected service and outputs them in the form of the Site Kit dashboards. Providing you’ve provided other admin access to the services – such as Analytics or AdSense at service level then other WordPress administrator roles will be able to connect to Site Kit (which gives them access to Search Console) and then view the various product dashboards. This is assuming they connect to Site Kit with the Google account you’ve granted them access to. (Each WordPress administrator role must use their own Google account to setup Site Kit).

Are there plans to change that or is there a simple workaround?

There is an open GitHub issue in relation to sharing data between WordPress roles. Feel free to subscribe to that issue or add your own input.

Most of my clients are not web-savvy or even WordPress-friendly.

I understand. If you’re setting Site Kit up for them please ensure you’ll need to grant them access at Google service level, while ensuring the role you’ve given them is an administrator role.

Another option is for these users to setup Site Kit themselves. If you’re looking to view the associated site data ensure they’ve provided you with access at Google service level.

Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

I hear you. Unfortunately the only practical solution in my situation will be to find another stats plugin. Thanks for the reply.

Sorry to hear Site Kit doesn’t suit your needs at present. I’ll pass on your feedback to the team on this matter.
