Any Plans to Introduce Disqus Type Features?

    This seems to be an interesting plugin, but all it does thus far is make comments powered by ajax. This is nowhere near what Disqus offers.

    Are plugin authors considering adding such features as voting for comments and allowing the user to sort comments by most voted? Or the ability to allow the user to edit their comment within a time specified by administrator? Or the ability to upload self-hosted images to the comment, or convert YouTube/LiveLeak/Vimeo/etc links into <iframe> embeds automatically?

    Adding such features would make the plugin an alternative to Disqus, as right now it just makes it possible to add comments without reloading the page.

    Also, is it possible to exclude Postmatic from the plugin?

    Hey Tranny,

    You can add all of those features to Epoch using the recommended plugins you’ll find in the settings screen. Epoch provides the framework and lets you pick and choose which other features you are interested in.

    And Postmatic isn’t included in Epoch at all. The two are compatible, but not bundled. You can actually use *any* comment notification plugin you want with Epoch. Go nuts.

    Hello Jason,

    thanks for your response. You mentioned plugins recommended on the settings screen, but the screenshot of your options page doesn’t show any such recommendations. What am I missing?

    Just install the plugin and activate it. Visit settings > Epoch in WordPress. You’ll see the recommendations there.
