Any notifications plugins that display notifications on front end?

    I have searched for notifications plugins and noticed they all seem to either send emails or web push or both, but that they don’t include any functionality to display notifications on the site’s front end.

    I am trying to see if there are any plugins that provide functionality similar to what you see on sites like www.stackoverflow.com where a user sees a notifications icon and a drop down message box with all notifications, with near real time updating.
