    Hey Everyone,

Has anyone recently set up a UK based dropshipping store and managed to set up all the tax settings correctly? Id massively appreciate some help and advice regarding the best plugins to use, who the best accountants for this are if needed, and any other general advice to help get me setup and selling asap.

    Thanks very much!

    Hello @idompharm,

I didn’t personally set up taxes for the UK but I know that setting up taxes can be a complex task. If you could provide more details on what your specific requirements are we can help you set up taxes the right way.

Let’s first say that we can only help with setting up tax rates in the WooCommerce settings and how the platform handles taxes based on these settings, but not when or what to charge.

We’re not tax professionals so our advice here is how to use WooCommerce and set up the settings properly. For specific advice when it comes to what or when to charge, we recommend consulting with a tax professional or an accountant on what may be your best options.

You can learn more about setting up taxes in WooCommerce here:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-taxes-in-woocommerce/

If you need to look for extensions that can add more features, don’t hesitate to take a look at this page:

    https://woocommerce.com/search/?q=tax

Hope that points you in the right direction.

Thanks very much for the information.

Do you know if any of these tax plugins like tax jar etc assist with deciding when or what to charge, or would consulting an accountant be required in any case? Also, I have seen many online companies offering tax services specifically for e-commerce sellers, so would this basically be the professional tax advice and automation plugin/software both being being offered together here?

    Any advice much appreciated.

I used Avalara on lots of projects for US based shops and it works really well.

    Hi @idompharm

We’ve not heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as resolved. Hopefully, the above suggestions were helpful! If you have further questions, please feel free to open a new topic.
