Any alternatives to AZ index?

I recently upgraded to the latest install and for some reason az index is now clashing. Tried writing to the author with no luck so now i’m looking for working alternatives. I also have this issue on a site that has to index 9,000 posts but only shows have that page if I use az index on any category with other 2,000 entries it nulls for some reason.
